Mr. Wiley Paul Trahan, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his home. He was born on December 20, 1938 in Lacassine to parents Eules and Lucille Deshotel Trahan.
Visitation for Mr. Trahan will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 and continue until 1:30 p.m. Cremation will follow under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Mr. Trahan lived in this community his entire life. He worked as a derrick hand in the oil industry for many years. Mr. Trahan will be remembered for always being very energetic and “old school” meaning his word was honorable and was not to be taken lightly. He was fun-loving and always laughing or smiling. Mr. Trahan was a tough man but he loved his kids and his grandkids without abandon. He also enjoyed his coffee.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children; daughters, Gwen (Greg) Harris and Tina (Kirk) Dupont, all of Pine Island, Lisa (Allan) Bertrand of Lacassine, Melissa Trahan of Jennings, Kristy (Benny) Fruge of Toledo Bend, Amanda (Lane Williams) Trahan of Hathaway; sons, Eric (Ruth) Trahan of Jennings, Wiley (Elizabeth)Trahan, Jr. and Joe (Michelle) Trahan all of Hathaway, Jonathan (Ashley) Trahan of Branson, Missouri and Clay (Lori Lopez) Trahan of Westlake; 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara LeJeune Trahan; his parents; his sister, Mable Primeaux and three brothers, Howard, Allen and Hayward Trahan and one grandson, Gavin Fruge.
