Wedess John Meche

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Wedess Meche, 78, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. today, Friday; and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services. Mr. Meche died at 8:10 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in the Golden Age Nursing Home of Welsh. Mr. Meche was a 30 year resident of Welsh moving there from Palestine, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a truck driver. He is survived by one daughter, Susan Barton Meche of Texas City, Texas; two sons, Carl James Meche of Austin, Texas, Randall Keith Meche of Abbeville; one sister, Vernice Simon of Beaumont, Texas; three brothers, Whitney Meche of Jennings, Earnest Meche of Opelousas, Clifford Meche of Duson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Meche is preceded in death by his parents, Oneal and Lorena Royer Meche and one son, Robert John Meche.
