Velta Perrin

December 16, 1934 — March 21, 2026

With heavy hearts, yet with deep faith and comfort, we celebrate the life of Velta Vincent Perrin, who entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2026, in Jennings, Louisiana, and now rests in the loving arms of Jesus.

Velta was born on December 16, 1934, in Kaplan, Louisiana, to Maurice and Cecile Bourque Vincent. In 1952, she made her home in Jennings, Louisiana, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and service. She was married to her beloved husband, Virgil C. Perrin, for 51 years.

Velta dedicated many years of service through her work with the federal Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS). She also faithfully served as secretary for First Baptist Church of Jennings, where she was deeply involved in numerous committees, often serving in leadership roles. Her commitment to her church extended to teaching a young girls' Sunday School class and participating in the Ladies Sunday School class.

A woman of compassion and generosity, Velta lived out her faith through acts of service. She devoted countless hours to helping others-preparing meals, providing transportation to medical appointments, and offering support wherever it was needed. Her benevolent spirit and servant's heart touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil C. Perrin; her parents, Maurice and Cecile Vincent; her sister, Lorena Vincent McGlaun; and her older son, Charles Keith Perrin of Fort Myers, Florida.

Velta is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Robert) Broussard, and her son, Don (Amelia) Perrin of Pensacola, Florida. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren-Christy, Rachel, Leah, Dustin, Brett, Chase, and Conner-and her great-grandchildren, Cole, Brylie, Gabrielle, Oliver, Greyson, Ezra, Harper, and Charlotte.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church in Jennings, LA, on Saturday March 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Brother Lyndsey Burns officiating. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Velta will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
