Timothy Charles Whipple, better known as Tim, peacefully passed away at the age of 69 on Saturday, April 20th, 2024.
On October 24th, 1954, Tim was born to Walter and Dolores Bahr Whipple. He was a native of Dushore, Pennsylvania, but currently resided at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home in Jennings, Louisiana.
Upon graduating from Sullivan County High School, and before enlisting in the military, he and his twin brother, Tom, operated a successful auto body repair shop. Once of age, Tim enlisted in the United States Army, during the Vietnam Era, and served his country with great pride.
Tim was the epitome of an American citizen. He had a deep fascination with the wars of our country, especially the Civil War. In his younger days, he thoroughly enjoyed participating in Civil War reenactments. Besides his love for American history, he was an avid Hank Williams fan.
Like his mother, Tim was a very talented artist. His favorite art pieces were those he created using oil paints. He was mechanically inclined and loved to tinker with different projects. He enjoyed collecting coins, history memorabilia, and old music albums.
Despite facing many challenges throughout his life, he clung to his Christian faith. He was a loving father and grandfather and adored his family. He was a man of unwavering strength and loyalty. He never met a stranger and to know him was to love him.
His quick wit and sense of humor will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his two children, Matthew and Erin, grandchildren, Landon, Aubrie, Ethan and Emri, two sisters, Faye and Julie, his twin brother, Tom, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dolores Whipple, a brother, Gary Whipple, his brother-in-law, Bob Stroble, and his son-in-law, Kyle Quebedeaux.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to all of the staff at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Home. The love and compassion shown to Tim will never be forgotten.
