Funeral services for Mrs. Sondra Cox Perry, 80, of Teague, TX, will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Perry will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, and will continue until the service time at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Perry was born on October 25, 1942, in Morgan City, LA to Taz Milton Cox and Georgia Carr.  She was a graduate of Cutoff High School. On December 16, 1961, Sondra married the love of her life for 61 years, Bob Perry, in Jennings, LA.

Together they raised three sons.  Sondra was active in the Boy Scouts when her boys were young.  In 1970 she was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, Bronze Pelican Emblem and many others while raising her Eagle Scout sons.

In 1978, the Perry family moved to Teague, TX, where Sondra worked for the city of Teague and as a substitute teacher for the Teague School district.

In retirement, Sondra and Bob enjoyed traveling in their RV.  Sondra particularly loved cooking, reading, and sewing her bears and baby blankets.  They especially enjoyed October in Branson, MO, and summers with their grandchildren.

Sondra passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023.  

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Bob Perry; sons, Scott (Paula) Perry of Fort Worth, TX, Robbie Perry of Teague, TX, and Roger Perry of Gatesville, TX; grandchildren, Aspyn Perry of Teague, TX, Loren Perry of Lubbock, TX, Joseph Perry of Stephenville, TX, Elowyn Perry of Austin, TX, Kaden and Kristina Perry of Fort Worth, TX; great grandson, Leopold Perry of Austin, TX; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Bobby St. Pierre of Cutoff, LA, sister, Myrna Lantia of Raceland, LA, Sister-in-law Linda Guillory, Sister-in-law  Lenor Cox and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Taz and Georgia Cox, two sisters, Jo Cox and Linda Miller, brother Ted Cox, brothers-in-law David Lantia and Jeff Perry and niece Vicki Lantia.
