Shelly Maria “Peppy” LeJeune, 62, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023, at her home in Pine Prairie, Louisiana.

Ms. LeJeune was born in Jennings, on December 15, 1961, to Allen Newman and Joyce Sonnier.  She was a high school graduate and worked as an operator in the construction industry.  She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and she also loved horses.  Ms. LeJeune enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of time gardening.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Summer Chiasson; sons, Kalab Newman, Thomas LeJeune, Seth Chiasson, and Lucas (Shawne) LeJeune; sisters, Sharon (Raymond) Comeaux and Sheila Newman; and twelve grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Craig Newman.

Her family has chosen cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings, Louisiana.
