It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Gale Delahoussaye LeBlanc, who left this world peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on October 14, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, Sharon was a beloved member of her community in Jennings, Louisiana, where she was known for her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit.
She spent most her life in Nederland, Texas and graduated from Nederland High School in 1968. Later in life, she moved to Hathaway, Louisiana with her daughter where she continued to make many memories enjoying life.
Sharon possessed a gentle soul, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand to those in need. She had an incredible ability to connect with people, often leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her love for music and singing brought joy to her life and to the lives of others, as she delighted in participating in her church choir. Her dedication extended beyond music; she was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where she served as a Catholic Daughter. She also was a member of the Serra Club, Red Hats, and the Louisiana Volunteers for Family and Community, where she built lasting friendships and contributed to her community.
She will be deeply missed by her family, especially her cherished daughter, Deena (Stuart) Fulton of Hathaway, Louisiana, who carries forth her legacy of love and kindness.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church Hall. A rosary will be held at 10:00 AM the same day in the church by the Catholic Daughters. Following the rosary a Memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 AM with Father Bill Miller officiating. Inurnment will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
In this time of remembrance, let us celebrate the gift of Sharon's life and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we cherish the beautiful memories we hold dear.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, James Delahoussaye and Marguerite Slayton Delahoussaye; her brothers, Daniel Delahoussaye and Charles Delahoussaye; and the father of her daughter, Richard LeBlanc.
