Ruby Sonnier Menard

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Sonnier Menard, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Menard died at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a native of Kaplan and a resident of Lake Arthur 65 years moving here from Hayes. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Chapman of Iowa and Janis Tyler; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ulysse and Claudia Trahan Sonnier; her husband Alton Menard; and one daughter, Linda Trahan.
