Rosita Hickock

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosita Ryder Hickock, beloved mother and grandmother, who departed this life on February 10, 2026, at the age of 90. Rosita was born on August 22, 1935, in Kaplan, Louisiana, and she spent her life in the warm embrace of her family, taking care of them.

As a dedicated homemaker, Rosita poured her love and energy into her family, creating a nurturing environment for all who entered her home. She often enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and cherishing the time spent with them. In her spare time she enjoyed a good game of bingo.

Her legacy lives on through her cherished children: daughters, Sandra Killmer and Roberta Gaspard; sons, Robert Menard and Kirk Menard; along with her eighteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and joy in their hearts.

Rosita was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hickock Sr.; her parents, Polite Ryder and Amelia Hargrave Ryder; her son, Eldridge Menard; a grandchild, Lisa Killmer; and her siblings, Gloria Guidry, Hazel Baranik, Michael Ryder, Lloyd Ryder, William Ryder.

The family will hold a public viewing for Rosita at Miguez Funeral Home on February 12, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 1:00 p.m., leading into the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., the same day, with Father Anil Alexander officiating.

She will be laid to rest with her husband in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Pallbearers to carry her to her place of rest will be: Ethan Menard, Kane Daigle, KJ Leday, Dylan Menard, Brady Harrington and Kaden Gaspard. Honorary Pallbearers will be: William "Bubba" Killmer and John Rutledge.
