Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Lurlene Mallett, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Adam Mallett, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Mrs. Mallett died at 2:16 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 in the Golden Age Nursing Home of Welsh.

Mrs. Mallett was a lifelong resident of the area.  She loved to garden and to take care of animals.  She was a member of the Roanoke United Methodist and was a past president and life member of the VFW Auxiliary 3686.

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Meche of Welsh; three sons, Allen (Felicia) and David (Brenda) Mallett both of Welsh and Ronnie Mallett of Jennings; one brother, Winfrey Mitchell of DeRidder; nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Callie Shirley and Alice “Verda” Eason Mitchell; her husband of 57 years, Albert Mallett; two sisters, Audrey Martin and Darlene Hickman; and one brother, Raymond Mitchell.
