Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Trahan Deshotel, 81, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Paul LaFleur officiating.

Burial will be in the Millerville Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

A Cursillo rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Deshotel died at 4:40 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mrs. Deshotel was a resident of Jennings 65+ years and was a press operator for Ray’s Dry Cleaning. If she didn’t know you when she first met you, she’d know you before you left. She was a fantastic cook and her favorite saying was “whatever!”

She is survived by one daughter, Rose Roussell and husband Luke of Jennings; five sons, Otis Mallett, Jr. of New Orleans, Thomas J. Deshotel of Jennings, Felix Deshotel and wife Beverly of Anacoco, Gerald and Terrell Deshotel; 1 brother, Webster Trahan and wife, Linda of Beaumont, TX; one sister, Amalese Trahan Lejeune of Eunice; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Ms. Deshotel is preceded in death by her husband Ivan J. Deshotel; parents, Artivise and Melenia Schexnyder Trahan; one daughter, Peggy Mallett Allen; two sisters, Mary Jane Royer, Mary Ann Stutes,; three brothers, Leiazey, Howard and Edward Trahan.
