Robert Diven Shuey Jr.

May 22, 1953 — Jul 14, 2026

Robert Diven "Bobby" Shuey, Jr., passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on May 22, 1953, in Pennsylvania. Bobby was a resident of Jennings, Louisiana, for more than 55 years. He will be remembered for his intelligence, strong work ethic, and remarkable ability to build, fix, or create just about anything.

Bobby enjoyed a distinguished career in the oil and gas industry that spanned more than 40 years. He began his career with IMCO Services in 1975 as a drilling fluids engineer before advancing to programmer and project engineer. In 2007, he joined Fluids Management as a Senior Engineer and Project Engineer, later becoming an independent consultant in 2015 until his retirement.

As a true lover of woodworking and building, he designed and built his family home in Jennings himself, completing nearly every aspect of the construction, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, and finish work.

In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed fishing, hunting, shrimping, and competitive sporting clays. He earned numerous awards, including honors at the National Sporting Clays Championship in San Antonio, and proudly served for many years on the AADE Sporting Clays Committee in New Orleans.

Bobby's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his daughters, Candace (Adam) Hebert of Welsh, Louisiana, and Christin (Kenndell) LeGros of Jennings, Louisiana; the mother of his children, Glenetta Shuey; his nine grandchildren, Audrey, Abigail, Chase, Slade, Eden, Milisa, Madison, Makayla, and Cannon; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Donnie (Valerie) Shuey of Alexandria, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Regina Shuey of Brandon, Florida, and his sister, Carol Ann Richard of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Bobby leaves behind a legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
