Norma Jane Sonnier, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on March 19, 1944, in Eunice, Louisiana, Norma lived a life brimming with love, kindness, and generosity.

A funeral service will be held in honor of Norma at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, on February 18, 2026, at 3:30 PM, with Father Roland Vaugn officiating. A public viewing will take place from 11:00 AM until the time of the service the same day, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their respects. A rosary will take place at 1:00 PM in the chapel.

The family has chosen to honor her wishes of cremation following her services.

In her earlier years, Norma left school to care for her family following the loss of her mother, demonstrating her unwavering dedication and profound sense of responsibility. She spent many fulfilling years as a cafeteria worker in Jefferson Davis Parish, where her warm smile and nurturing spirit nourished countless students.

Norma was known for her sweet and beautiful soul, enjoying camping trips with her special friend, Smitty, and sharing joyful moments at Bayou Villa, where she lived and cherished the friendships she formed. She found excitement in visiting local casinos during her spare time, but her greatest joy was always centered around her family and the love they shared together.

Norma is survived by her loving daughter, Shelly (Troy) Sonnier; her devoted sons, Brent and Tommy Sonnier; her cherished sister, Reno Cambre; and her brothers, Bruce Miller, Bernard Miller, and Terry Comeaux; her daughter-in-law, Jo Ellen Davidson; A proud grandmother, she leaves behind eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way, all of whom were the light of her life.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Zannie Miller and Mamie Betrand Miller; siblings, Wanda Marshall, Rodney Miller, Charles Miller, L.G. Miller; the father of her children, Wayne Sonnier; daughter-in-law, Rachael Shoats; her special friend, Kenneth "Smitty" Smith.

Norma Jane Sonnier will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
