Nancy Allbritton

A faithful servant of the Lord and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy Jester Allbritton, 83 passed away June 24, 2026. Nancy was born on May 18, 1943 in Jennings, LA to Clifford and Thelma Brown Jester.

She was a 1961 graduate of Hathaway High School, and a graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA, earning her B.A. degree in education in 1981 and an M.Ed. in 1998. She was a science teacher for 25 years at Hathaway High School.

Nancy was an avid card player and a member of Lake Arthur United Methodist Church, Lake Arthur, LA; Volunteers for Family and Communities; Red Hat Society; Delta Kappa Gamma Society International; National and Louisiana Science Teachers Association; Jefferson Davis Parish Science Teachers Association and Louisiana Educators Association.

She is survived by her four children, Kenny (Sharla) Prejean, Hathaway, LA; Sheila (Wayne) Fruge, Hathaway, LA; Doug Prejean, Iowa, LA and Chad (Erica) Prejean, Spring, TX. Her 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grand children. Her brothers Dickie Jester, Tupelo, MS and Darrell Jester, Hathaway, LA; her sisters Kathy (Richard) Mack, Lake Arthur, LA and Janet (Jimmy) Walker, Aquilla, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Thelma Brown Jester; and brother, Ralph Jester

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday June 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Jennings Methodist Church on North Cary Avenue, in Jennings, LA. A memorial service to honor her life will be held the same day at 11:00 AM with Rev. Craig Davis officiating.

The family has chosen to honor her wishes of cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request for donations be made to Lake Arthur United Methodist Church, Jennings Methodist Church, or St. Jude's Children Hospital, in memory of Nancy Allbritton.
