It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clifford Dubois Courville, a beloved father, friend, and hardworking man, who left us on August 23, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on February 21, 1942, in Jennings, Louisiana, Clifford lived a life filled with laughter, love, and the joys of simple pleasures. A true Cajun at heart, he cherished French Cajun music and could often be found dancing the night away.
Clifford made a name for himself as a talented welder, and he took immense pride in his work, instilling a solid work ethic in his children that will echo for generations to come. He was known for his knack for building hot rods and the thrill of drag racing, often sharing stories that left everyone in stitches with his wonderful sense of humor. He loved nothing more than cracking jokes and enjoying some cold beer with friends, creating memories that will forever bring smiles to those who knew him.
Clifford's greatest pride and joy were his family. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Courville Roy and sons, Mark (Naomi) Courville and Coty (Lori) Courville. He was a devoted grandfather to Megan Miller, Hillory Cassidy, Ryan Courville, Seth Jackson, Courtney Roy, Brennen Courville, and Logan Courville and cherished his great-grandchildren, Grayson, Sawyer, Jayden, Chloe', Savannah, Camden, Jovie, Dani, Ryleigh, and Colten. He is also survived by his companion Ida Broussard, and his brother Rolan Fontenot.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate the remarkable life at Miguez Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being held at 6:00 PM in the chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 8:00 AM until the time of the service beginning at 11:00 AM with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. He will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery with Military Honors, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Clifford Courville's legacy of hard work, laughter, and love for life will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Mr. C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Verna Rose Fontenot, his loving wife Barbara Nell Lopez Courville, his daughter, Amanda Courville; infant son, Jamie Courville, and siblings, Lou Ayo, Diane Latiolais, and Jerry Fontenot.
