Michael Wayne Rea

The family of Michael Wayne Rea, announces his passing on March 19, 2026, in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the age of 62. He was born on February 4, 1964, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was a graduate of Hathaway High School.

Michael loved his family and left to cherish their memories of him are his daughters, Kandice Rea and Kelsi (Trent) Rea; four beautiful grandchildren; He was a loving step father to four bonus children; a devoted son of Ruby Guidry Rea; and a caring brother to Richard (Claire) Rea, Susan (Eric) Hofmann, Sheila (Glenn) Richard, Sheryl (Calvin) Ladelle, Denise (Oscar) Ramirez, and John (Evelyn) Rea; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

Cremation has been taken place under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Graveside inurnment services will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Pine Island Cemetery, with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating the service.

Rest in peace, you will be missed more than words can say.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Richard Rea.
