It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Michael Wayne Navarre, who left us on February 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on December 13, 1951, in Jennings, Louisiana, Michael was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother who spent his life working the land as a dedicated farmer in the agriculture industry.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Connie Navarre. He was a proud father to son Rusty (Shelly) Lege and daughter Kim (Chris) Walker, and cherished his role as a grandfather to Nik (Abigail) Navarre, Aaron Sturlese, Talen Sturlese, Kole Navarre, Kobe Walker, Kehl Walker, Dayton Lege, and Brodey Lege. He also embraced the joy of being a great-grandfather to Liam and Naomi Navarre. Michael is also survived by his brothers Ricky, Reynolds, and Blaine Navarre, as well as his sister, Katie Rogers.
Michael was known for his love of hunting, fishing, and most importantly, spending quality time with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on February 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life starting at 10:00 AM that same day. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery. The family is honoring his wishes of cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Michael was preceded in death by: his parents Weday and Beulah Comeaux Navarre, his daughter, Jessica Sturlese and his brother, Kent Navarre.
