JENNINGS

Funeral services for Mr. Melvin R. Doucet, 88, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 6, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Powell officiating.

Burial will be in the Miller French Church Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 AM Monday until time of service.

Mr. Doucet died at 5:50 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Doucet was a native of Evangeline and resident of Tioga for 62 years. Mr. Doucet was a retired Insurance Agent. He served in the United States Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Durelia Lacombe Doucet of Tioga; daughter Patricia “Patti” Doucet of Tioga; 2 sisters, Lela Jowers of Pineville, LA and Betty Appleton of Watter Valley MS; and 2 brothers, Robert Doucet of Jennings, and Howard Doucet of Iota.
