Melissa Benoit

It is with great sadness that the family of Melissa Ann Benoit announces her passing on October 24, 2025, at the age of 48.

Born on December 7, 1976, in Jennings, Louisiana, Melissa was a fun-loving free spirit who brought joy to everyone she met. A devoted homemaker, she cherished her family above all.

Melissa had a unique ability to connect with people. She was not just a best friend to many; she was a friend to strangers, always offering kindness and a warm smile. Her love for life was infectious, and her laughter could light up any room. She adored Dachshunds and often found solace in the simple pleasures of home and family.

Melissa is survived by her devoted spouse of 20 years, Ronald Abshire Jr., and their fur baby, Rosie; her daughters, Kallie Benoit, Summer (Tyrik) Benoit, and Morgan (Terell) Benoit; her parents, Daniel Touchet and Janelle Roy Touchet; brother, Norman (Sandi) Touchet; grandchildren, Dallas, Kai, Talon; and her nieces, Amber, Ashlyn, and Alyssa. .

Meeting her at the gates of heaven, awaits her dachshund, Angel.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love and her spirited personality that made life so much brighter for those lucky enough to know her.

A funeral service will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Tuesday October 28, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of service.

Following the service, the family has chosen to honor Melissa's wishes of cremation, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
