Martha S. Locklear

April 24, 1922 — August 17, 2018

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha S. Locklear, 96, of Jennings will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Cook and Bro. Brian Wells officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

 

Visitation for Mrs. Locklear will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21 at Miguez Funeral Home and will continue until the 1:30 p.m. service time.

 

Mrs. Locklear was born in Pembroke, NC on April 24, 1922. She was a Welfare social worker for the State of Louisiana having moved here in 1952 from their home in North Carolina. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Jennings for many years. Mrs. Locklear was also a member of Entre’ Nous and the Jennings Golf and Country Club. She cherished and was very proud of her Native American Heritage and was known as a free spirit who lived and loved life to its fullest.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Susie Oxendine Sampson of North Carolina; her beloved husband, Ledger Locklear; and her dear son, L. Barry Locklear.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cheryl and husband Reginald Ringuet of Lafayette; grandchildren, Carrie Artique, Ross Broussard, Ryan C. Ringuet, Alicia Ringuet French and Tyler J. Ringuet; and her great grandchildren, Justin Artigue, Gabe Muffalotta, Alex Muffalotta, Nicholas Muffalotta, Heidi French and Hunter J. Ringuet.

Pallbearers will be Ross Broussard, Ryan C. Ringuet, Tyler J. Ringuet, Kent Sampson, Randy Ringuet and John Showacre.
