Markham Ray Trahan Jr., a brilliant and dedicated man whose adventurous spirit and love for the cosmos enriched the lives of all who knew him, passed away on June 6, 2025. Born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on June 29, 1961, Mark spent most of his life in Allen, Texas, where he built a remarkable career and a loving family.

Mark's keen intellect led him to earn a Master of Science degree in Physics, a testament to his lifelong pursuit of knowledge. His groundbreaking master's thesis and research were even cited in the development of the esteemed Keck Telescope, a significant contribution to the field of astronomy. For many years, he applied his extraordinary mind as a Managing Engineer at Texas Instruments, where he was highly respected for his dedication and expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mark was a man of diverse passions. He found joy in traveling, exploring new horizons with an adventurous heart. His profound love for astronomy was a constant source of wonder, and he enjoyed both playing and listening to music.

Mark's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Marie Arabie Trahan; his devoted children, Lucas, Rachel and her husband Jeremy Salinas; and his cherished grandchildren, Madeline and Penelope. He also leaves behind his brothers, Michael and Christopher, and his sister, Robin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sandra Lynn Johnson Trahan and Markham Ray Trahan Sr..

Mark will be remembered for his brilliant mind, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering dedication to his work and family. His legacy of curiosity and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A graveside entombment service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery in Jennings, Louisiana, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Markham's memory to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund at https://curealz.org/.
