Jennings
Marilla Ann LaFleur, a beloved member of the Jennings community, will be remembered and celebrated for her vibrant spirit and love for her family. Born on March 24, 1943, in Jennings, Louisiana, Marilla dedicated her life to both her work as a florist assistant and her role as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.
Marilla's legacy lives on through her sons, Tony (Kim) LaFleur and Chad (Dana) LaFleur; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Brooke, Bailey, Brileigh, Bryce, Braylon, Kelsie, and her great-grandchildren: Coleigh, Kynsleigh, Taylen, Lily, and Rellie. Her family brought her immense joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
An active member of the community, Marilla served on the Board for Council on Ageing in Jennings and was a faithful member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings, on Thursday August 1, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel, at 1:30 p.m., with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
While we mourn the loss of Marilla, we also celebrate the richness and love she brought into the lives of those around her. May her memory continue to inspire us all.
Marilla was preceded in death by her husband, Harry LaFleur; parents, Marius and Ida Martinez Camel; and her brother, Jimmie Camel.
