It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Margaret Hebert, who went to be with the Lord peacefully on the morning of October 20, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on March 22, 1939, to Marguerite and Felix Trahan, Margaret lived a life filled with warmth, strength, and devotion to her family. She married the late Dave Hebert of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and a beautifully blended family.
Margaret was a devoted nurse for more than 50 years, beginning her calling at the young age of 18 and dedicating her life to caring for others with compassion and grace. She was also known for her love of cooking, her green thumb, and her appreciation for Cajun French music that celebrated her roots. Some of her family's fondest memories were the times spent together at Holly Beach, where her laughter and stories made every moment special.
Margaret is survived by her children, Michael Stroder (Bobby Duhon) of Texas, Carolyn Holland (Curtis Holland) of Lake Charles, Lorrie Buller (late Francis Buller) of Lake Arthur, James Stroder of Lake Arthur, Pauline Hebert (Jimmy Hebert) of Alexandria, and Gail Thibodeaux of Lake Arthur.
She is also survived by a large and loving extended family - including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and the children and grandchildren she lovingly gained through her marriage to Dave - along with many dear friends who all loved her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and Felix Trahan; her beloved husband, Dave Hebert; her sons Kenneth "T-Boy" Stroder and Daniel Stroder; brothers Freeman and Jimmy Trahan; and sisters Louvina, Virginia, and her twin sister Margie, who went before her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial visitation will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Thursday October 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, Margaret will be honored for her dedication for her many years of nursing to our community, by the Louisiana Nurse Honor Guard. A rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM, leading into her service at 5:00 PM.
Inurnment is being planned by the family and will be announced at a later date.
