Mabel Istre

JENNINGS Mabel Benoit Istre, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her went to be with her Lord at 6:30 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011. She was 85. She is survived by her sister Adley Benoit LeDoux of Jennings; her children, Randy Istre of Jennings, Joan Istre Glomb of Austin, Becky Istre Jolibois and husband Duane Jolibois of Baton Rouge, and Rhonda Istre Coleman and husband Rick Coleman of Marble Falls, Texas. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Laura, Garett, Amanda, Elizabeth, Kristan, Alexandra, Rich and Case, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Liezie and Euphemie Benoit, and siblings Nita Benoit, Lydia Istre, Amy McMillin, Joseph, Edway, Rufus, Arthur, and Dudley Benoit. Her love for God was demonstrated by her humble, peaceful nature and her acts of kindness to all who knew her. She cherished time with her family with whom her fondest memories were made. Visitation will be Thursday, December 22nd at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Friday, December 23rd, visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jennings Church of Christ on North Cutting Avenue, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
