Mr. Richard passed away at his home in Jennings on Tuesday, December 22, 2025.
Mr. Richard was first and foremost a family man. At an early age, his father became ill, so he made the decision soon after to start working to help support his mother and three younger brothers. From that point on, he opened his own business and became the owner of Lynn E Richard Building Contractor for the next 57 years. But being a contractor was simply his trade, his life’s work. His true mission was building homes where other families made memories. He built his own home, too, where he raised two amazing children who, in turn, gave him three cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Family was sacred to him. He loved his many nieces and nephews and was always there if they needed advice.
When Mr. Richard wasn’t busy building homes, he was devoted to his family and the community. He was a Little League baseball coach for seven years and an umpire for five years. He loved all sports and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play. He was a member of New Hope Church in Panchoville, and he gave regularly to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital. He also enjoyed watching old western movies, playing cards, and building his coin collection.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Missy (Gary) Daniel; son, Bart (Kristine) Richard; grandchildren, Lynna (Glenn) Dives, Hannah Daniel, and Luxie Richard; great-grandchild, Elsie Dives; sister-in-law, Darlene Richard; and a host of extended family and friends who will always cherish their memories of Lynn.
The oldest child of Earl and Elvera “Toot” Richard, he was there in sadness as he buried his parents and siblings. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brothers, Carl Kenneth Richard, Woodrow “Ti” Richard, and Joey Richard; his two sisters, Phyllis Domingue and Roena Richard; and his first wife, Elsie Ringuete Richard.
