Lou Anna Carty

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lou Anna Carty, who left this world on May 29, 2026, after a brave battle with dementia for the past six years. Born on July 8, 1947, Lou Anna was a beloved daughter, friend, and a cherished homemaker.

Lou Anna had a zest for life that shone through in everything she did. She enjoyed arts and entertainment and cherished the wonderful moments spent with her classmates from the Class of 1965. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone around her, but her greatest joy came from her family and friends, especially her daughter, Angelle (Darrin Benoit) Carty, whom she adored wholeheartedly.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation on June 2, 2026, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, from 2:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday June 3, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM led by Brother Tim Vanya. Lou Anna will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Although she has left us, her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. We encourage all who knew and loved her to join us as we celebrate her wonderful life.

Lou Anna was preceded in death by her dear husband; Lafayette Carty, her parents; Paul Arceneaux and Inez Derouen Arceneaux; her sisters; Rosie Richards and Linda Romero, and her brother; Irvin Richards.
