Lorraine Faye Lepretre

Sep 6, 1949 — Aug 26, 2026

Lorraine Inman Crader Lepretre was born in Mermentau, Louisiana, on September 6, 1949, to Henry and Auddie Inman. Throughout her life, she wore many hats-grain inspector, housekeeper, babysitter, homemaker, mother, and eventually the beloved NANA to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

But those occupations don't really capture who Lorraine was. She was a great listener, someone who genuinely cared about other people. Her love ran deep, and family was at the center of her world. Family gatherings were among her favorite times, bringing together the people she loved most. She had a special love for flowers and crafts, and she adored her dog, Snoopy. She also loved sitting and listening to her husband, Floyd, play music-one of those simple memories that can say more about a marriage and a life together than a long list of accomplishments.

Lorraine leaves behind her loving husband, Floyd Lepretre, and her children: Henry "Joey" Crader and his wife Kathy of Port Arthur, Texas; Micah Crader and his wife Krystal of Eunice, Louisiana; and Katrina Crader of Hathaway, Louisiana. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Tammy "Bumper" Richard of Evangeline, Louisiana; Bryan Lepretre of Welsh, Louisiana; and Ronda Breaux and her husband Ray of Hathaway, Louisiana; sister, Betty LeBlanc and her husband Melvin of Mermentau, LA; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as NANA and whose lives were touched by her love.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her son, Daniel "Scotty" Crader; her stepdaughter, Kristal Precht; her parents, Henry and Auddie Inman; her siblings, Helen Wardell, Louis Inman, Louise Strother, Daisy Edwards, Mary Smith, Cecile Inman, Sr, and Alex Inman.

A visitation will be held on Monday August 31, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM the same day with Pastor Dustin Lister officiating her service. She will be laid to rest in Mermentau Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Camelot Brookside and LAMM Hospice for the care and support they provided to Lorraine. Most especially, the family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Samantha Danos, whose care, compassion, and kindness meant so much to Lorraine and her family.
