Loretta M. Gilbert

A gathering of family and friends for Loretta M. Gilbert, 87, will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on October 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 1:15 PM, leading into a funeral service at 2:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Father Keith Pellerin will be officiating her services. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in the Garden of Angels, with her husband.

Born on November 17, 1938, in Evangeline, Louisiana, Loretta lived a vibrant life filled with joy, laughter, and cherished moments with her family and friends. A proud Jennings native, Loretta made her career in the utilities industry, where she dedicated over 30 years as an office manager at Entergy, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. After her retirement, she continued to enjoy life to the fullest, spending time with family, visiting friends, and indulging in her passion for the casino.

Left to cherish her legacy are her brother, Gerald (Rose Mary) Miller; nieces, Angela M. Guillory, and Christine Dietz; nephews, Barrett Miller, Jarred Miller, Randall (Sara) Cormier, Scott (Becky) Cormier, and David W. (Renee) Dietz.

Loretta was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel W. Gilbert; her parents, Amitte "Molly" Andrepont Miller and Walter Joseph Miller; brother, Donald Miller; sisters, Earline Dietz and Martha M. Amie; niece, Kimberly Cormier; and her dear nephews, Daniel Amie and Patrick Cormier.
