Lois F. Doherty

ELTON Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Fusilier Doherty, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in the St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Marshall Boulet officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. today, Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Doherty died at 8:35 a.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the Camelot Brookside Nursing Home in Jennings. She was a lifelong resident of Elton, was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. She was a Eucharistic Minister for the church and the homebound. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Hormell and husband Paul of Jennings, Linda Debetaz and husband Louis of Lufkin, TX; two sons, Michael Doherty and wife Judy of Houston, TX, David Doherty and wife Shannon of Covington; one sister, Joyce Courville of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Doherty was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lin Doherty and her parents, Laurence and Ellen Ardoin Fusilier.
