Linda Lou Taylor, 89, of Jennings, Louisiana, went to be with her heavenly father surrounded by her loved ones on October 9, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1936, in Jennings, Louisiana, the daughter of Cecelia and Alex Courville. She met her husband, Joseph Taylor, Jr., while he was stationed at Fort Polk. They were united in marriage on February 28, 1954.
By the age of 28, she was the devoted young mother of six children, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to their care. She ensured they always had a warm meal on the table and lovingly met their every need with sacrifice and strength. A talented homemaker, she found joy in sewing, baking, and cooking. Above all, she faithfully served her Lord and Savior, sharing her love for Him through reading and studying her bible, playing the piano, singing in the choir and giving her time to Vacation Bible School and Children's Church. She was a founding member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and loved to share her faith and encourage those around her.
She is survived by one son, Joseph E. Taylor, III, and his wife Brenda; four daughters, Vanessa Rider, Cheryl Huval and her husband Tommy, all of Jennings, Vicky Richard and her husband, David, of Gillis, and Lisa Sanders and her husband Carl (Tiger) of Jenkins, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Brandon Rider and his wife Rachael , Steven Rider and his wife Gabby, Kimberly Rider, Aaron Taylor and his wife Wendy, Lynnlee Brewer and her husband Nick, Jacob Richard, Alyssa Broussard and her husband Chase, Rachel Ayo and her husband Michael, and Taylor Sanders. Her legacy will live on through her eight great grandchildren, Lauren Rider, Ann Marie and Rosie Lopez, Lillian and Amelia Rider, Benjamin and Callyn Brewer and Baby "A" Ayo.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Cecelia and Alex Courville; her husband, Joseph Taylor, Jr.; one son, Curtis Wayne Taylor; her son-in-law, Glenn Rider; and one grandson Jeremy Lee Taylor.
Carrying her to her final resting place are Joseph E. Taylor, III, Brandon Rider, Steven Rider, Aaron Taylor, Jacob Richard, and Taylor Sanders. Tommy Huval, David Richard, Tiger Sanders and Gaylon Trahan have been named as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation for Mrs. Taylor will begin on Monday October 13, 2025, at 8:30 am until the time of service in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 13, 2025, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Brian McFarlain and Carl Sanders officiating.
Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
