It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kermit John Boudreaux "Smokey" , a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who left this world on August 15, 2025, at the tender age of 74. Kermit was born on October 12,1950, in Welsh, Louisiana, and lived his life making a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Kermit was a devoted family man, married for 53 beautiful years to his loving wife, Bonnie. Together, they nurtured a loving home filled with laughter and joy, a legacy that lives on through their three daughters: Amy (Timothy) Spears, Nikki Boudreaux, and Brittany Boudreaux. Kermit took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, cherishing his grandchildren—Carli (Trent) Spears, Tristan (Tiera) Spears, Dylan (Ali) Spears, Toby Spears, Lucas McNeal, Jonah McNeal, Sawyer McNeal, Elise Boudreaux, Balin Boudreaux, and Bailey Louviere Aydan Fontenot ; and his great grandchildren, Beau, Paisli, Jackson, Kolton, Oaklynn, Callum, and Lainey, who brought him boundless happiness. He is also survived by his brother, Lane (Stephanie) Boudreaux and sisters Audrey Moreau and Ann Hoffpauir, who will all carry cherished memories of their time with him.

A devout Catholic and God-fearing man, Kermit's faith was a pillar of his life. He found solace in the natural world, enjoying hunting and fishing, which were not only hobbies but representations of his deep appreciation for the beauty surrounding him. Kermit's gentle spirit, unwavering love for his family, and commitment to his faith will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Monday August 18, 2025, from 2:30 PM until the closing time of 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on the same day at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday August 19, 2025, at 8:00 AM until the time to depart for Mass.
