It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Dale Cormier Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on September 28, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on November 30, 1948, in Iota, Louisiana, Kenneth lived a life full of love, adventure, and devotion to his family.
Kenneth served his country honorably as an Army veteran and carried the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life. He had a successful career as a bookkeeper in the accounting industry, which was a testament to his sharp mind and strong work ethic. However, it was not just his professional life that defined him; it was his unwavering love for family and friends.
A man with the heart of a big kid, Kenneth cherished his time outdoors, often indulging in hunting and fishing with loved ones. He was a natural in the kitchen, always eager to cook and share meals with family and friends, ensuring that no one ever left his home hungry. Kenneth found profound joy in gathering his family together, from cooking vibrant meals to sharing laughter and stories around the table, creating lasting memories with each cherished moment. He loved and cherished his wife, often enjoyed dancing together and listening to good music.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Diane Cormier; his loving children, Kenneth "Kenny" (Josy) Cormier, Jr., Sadie (Randall) Esthay, Amy (Carlos) Fuentes, , and Kristopher (Jennifer) Cormier; his treasured siblings, Linda (Ray) Young, Pris Soileau, Phyllis Cormier, Russell (Stephanie) Cormier, and Brian (Craig) Cormier. An adoring circle of grandchildren who were the light of his life: Matt (Jennifer) Cormier, Ryan (Bailee Williams) Cormier, Matheus Azevedo, Kristen (Caleb) Durio, Hanna (Gunnar) Goodwin, Eric (Kristin) Fuentes, Garrett (Kristen Shedd) Fuentes, Miranda Fuentes (Harley Schupska), Alex Fuentes, Nick Cormier, Josh Cormier; and also his great grandchildren: Alyssa Cormier, Blaise Cormier, Laney Durio, Carson Sittig , Ellie Durio, Georgia Goodwin, Autumn Fuentes, Kennedy Schupska, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Mae DeBlanc Cormier and Calvin "Red" Cormier; and a God Child, Donna Thibodeaux.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at Miguez Funeral Home, from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited by the family at 11:30 AM in the chapel.
Funeral services to honor Kenneth's remarkable legacy will take place in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel the same day at 12:00 PM, with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Kenneth was truly a beacon of love, enthusiasm, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
