Joseph Trahan Jr., a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on November 29, 1940, in Jennings, Louisiana, Joseph had a life full of hard work and community spirit. He was a familiar face around town, always lending a helping hand and supporting local businesses, especially at Oustalet Ford.
For many years, Joe was a dedicated butcher, serving the Jennings and Welsh areas with pride and expertise. His passion for his craft was evident to all who knew him. Beyond his work, he cherished his family above all else, creating lasting memories with his sons, Marshall Trahan and Bryan (Kim) Trahan, and doting on his grandchildren: Emma, Malorie, Graham, and Maximilian Trahan. He was also a loving brother to James (Dean) Trahan, Sr., Clara (Frank) Suire, and Judy (Wilbert) Vincent.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Trahan; parents, Joseph Trahan, Sr. and Clara Trahan; and a sister, Theresa Trahan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing at Miguez Funeral Home on Thursday June 4, 2026, from 3:00 PM until the closing hour of 8:00 PM. A rosary will be held that evening at 6:00 PM, in the chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday June 5, 2026, at 8:00 AM, with the service starting at 2:00 PM, also at Miguez Funeral Home, with Father Charles McMillin officiating.
He will be laid to rest next to his loving wife in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Joseph will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit and dedication to family and community will forever be remembered.
