John Paul Miller, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on March 21, 1941, in Jennings, LA, he spent his life dedicated to his family, friends, and community. John was known not only for his commitment to his family but also for his unyielding passion for hunting and fishing, activities that brought him immense joy and connected him with nature.
John was a loving father to his children, Robert Stewart, Benita Bailey, John (Angela) Stewart, Robert (Theresa) Hargrave, John (Toby), and Joseph Miller. His legacy will continue through his thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories and lessons he imparted. He is also survived by his sisters Della (Keith) Broussard, Jeanette Sonnier, Annetta Saidertol, Earline Suire, and his brothers Leonard "Peanut" (Kathy) Miller, Roy (Cheryl) Miller, Jimmie (Wendy) Miller, and Reed "J.J." (Yvette) Trahan Miller. John's family meant the world to him, and he was the pillar of love and support for those who knew him.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Miller; parents, Leonard Miller and Lovina Vincent; step mother, Adella Miller; son, Eddie Stewart; and siblings, LeRoy Miller, Ursin "Popeye" Miller (Mary), and Harold Miller.
He was laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
