John Guidry

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Luma Guidry, who departed this life peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on October 3, 1955, in Jennings, Louisiana, John lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and a strong work ethic.

For over 30 years, John was a devoted motorman in the oil and gas industry, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a man of many talents, known for his unwavering support of his family and cherished moments spent fishing. He found immense joy in watching his grandchildren thrive, often attending their sporting events with pride and enthusiasm.

John leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Evelyn Guidry; his daughter, Amanda (Gerrad) Theriot and his sons, Chad and Aric Guidry. He was a devoted grandfather to Quintin (Jessaka) Theriot, Kimberlyn (Tristan) LeMaire, Brayden, Tyler, Liam, and Milo Guidry, and a great-grandfather to Lucas and Sawyer Theriot. He is also survived by his siblings: Gayle Broussard, Guy Guidry Jr., Robert "Bobby" Guidry, Corice Killmer, and Michael Guidry.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, John's impact on the lives he touched will be felt forever. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Miguez Funeral Home, in Lake Arthur, LA. A gathering of friends and family will resume at 8:30 AM, Friday September 12, 2025, in the chapel and will conclude at the time of service.

Funeral services for John will be held on Friday September 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur, LA. He will be laid to rest in Andrus Cove Cemetery.

In this difficult time, the family appreciates the outpouring of support and kindness from friends and community members. John's legacy of love and devotion will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Pauline Guidry; and a brother, Jimmy Guidry.
