Graveside services (weather permitting) for Mrs. JoAnna Gary Parsley will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Paul LaFleur officiating. Arrangement are being handled through Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mrs. Parsley will begin Sunday evening, February 28, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Parsley was born in Jennings on February 23, 1946 the daughter of Andrew Gary and Loris Fruge Gary. She finished high school and several years of college before going to work as a bookkeeper in the oilfield industry. She lived in the Jennings/Evangeline area her entire life. She enjoyed playing cards and doing yardwork, always tending to the plants and flowers she loved so much.
Mrs. Parsley was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was everyone’s maw maw Jo and the center of her family’s world. Not very many events that her family was involved in were missed by Miss JoAnna. In fact, she took everyone under her wing and was a “second Mom” to nearly everyone.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
Mrs. Parsley leaves behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Christine Koll of Jennings, and Sarah Cormier of Westlake; sons, Dean (Nasondra) Parsley of Hathaway, Ross (Rachel) Parsley of Evangeline and daughter-in-law, Arlene Parsley of Crowley; sister, Jeanette (Mike) Briggs of Jennings; brothers, Fred (Peggy) Gary of Moss Bluff and Mike (Debbie) Gary of Jennings; sister- in law, Peggy D. Gary; twenty-one grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Kelly Parsley; her parents; son, Drew Parsley; sister, Della Person; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Gary, Charlie Gary; two sisters-in-laws; Dorothy, and Peggy Gary.
