Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Newman, 68, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be Monday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Following the service, Mr. Newman’s body will be cremated under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Mr. Newman died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 in his residence.

Mr. Newman was a lifelong resident of Mermentau. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and retired truck driver for an oilfield service company.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Miller Newman of Mermentau, LA; daughter, Angela Barrett of Jennings, LA; son, Kirk Newman of Mermentau, LA; 2 brothers, Morris Newman and Wilson Newman, both of Jennings, LA, and one grandchild.

Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his parents, Deluse and Waver LeBlanc Newman and a brother, Clifford Newman.
