James "Jimmy Mc" McDaniel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home on July 9, 2026, in Iota, Louisiana, at the age of 62. Born on November 19, 1963, in Eunice, Louisiana, James lived a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure.

A proud graduate of Iota High School, James furthered his education at Louisiana State University in Eunice, where he earned an associate's degree. He dedicated many years of his life to the oil and gas industry, serving as an operator with unwavering commitment. Known for his simplicity and zest for life, he truly embraced every moment and cherished the time spent with his loved ones.

Jimmy had a passion for life that extended beyond his work. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, feeling the wind against him as he took to the open road. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in shooting guns and being outside. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the Generals Pistols team, serving his country with honor and dedication.

His love for family was deep and unwavering. He is survived by his devoted wife, Julie McDaniel; his daughters, Crystal (Michael) Ardoin and Carrie (Zachary) Hebert; and his sons, Zachariah (Margaret Hayes) Matthews and Jude (Allison) Matthews. Jimmy was also the cherished grandfather of Kallie (Dionta Angelle) Robinson, Brannon Ardoin, Haiden Ardoin, Christopher Matthews, Kevin Byrd, Barrett Byrd, Emily Matthews, Phoebe Matthews, and Jude Matthews Jr., as well as a beloved great-grandfather to Khalil Angelle; his sisters, Carla (Robert) Broussard, Michelle (Charles) Cormier, and Rachelle (Chris) Picard.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, David and Barbara McDaniel; his son, Alex McDaniel and his daughter, Kristy McDaniel.

Jimmy's kindness, humor, and zest for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love and devotion will be remembered and celebrated by family and friends alike.

Cremation is under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
