Jerry Killmer, Sr.

Jerry Wayne Killmer Sr., 82, of Jennings, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. Born on September 19, 1943, in Welsh, Louisiana, Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather who left a profound impact on the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Corice Killmer; daughter Stacie Benoit; and grandchildren William and Kaitlyn Benoit. Jerry is also survived by his siblings: sisters, Carla Chapman and Danette Stagg; brothers, Terry Killmer, William "Bubba" Killmer, and Raven "Dinky" Gotte. His family was his greatest pride, and he dedicated himself to nurturing and supporting them throughout his life.

He worked as a Derrick hand in the oil and gas industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and tenacity. Beyond his professional life, he was an active member and usher at Hope Church in Evangeline, Louisiana, where he served God faithfully and was a source of inspiration to his community members.

In his leisure time, Jerry found joy in hunting and fishing, often spending peaceful days outdoors. He also had a passion for gardening and was known for his skills in working on small engines, always eager to lend a hand to friends and family with any mechanical challenges. He also served proudly in the US ARMY for many years.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Friday December 12, 2025, from 2:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume the following morning Saturday December 13, 2025, from 8:00 AM until the time of service.

A funeral service to honor Jerry's life will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Brother Thomas Patterson officiating. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Della Killmer; sisters, Lottie "Pat" Ewing; and a son, Jerry Killmer, Jr.

Pallberears will be, William Benoit, Joey Chapman, Keagan Chapman, Cade Chapman, Kelsie Chapman, Brandon St. Germain. Honorary will be David Chapman.

The family would like to express their deepest and sincerest gratitude to Hope Hospice, especially his nurse, Greg; his CNA, Lashonda; his social worker, Kim; and the staff at Lourdes Hospital Moncus Building; for all the love, care and compassion they gave Jerry and his family.
