Janice Kay Richard

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Janice Kay Richard, a cherished member of our family and community, who left us on August 16, 2026, at the age of 68.

Born on January 18, 1958, in Jennings, Louisiana, Janice was a devoted Catholic and a loving caregiver who touched the lives of many throughout her life. Janice was known for her kindness and her genuine love for people. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, soaking in the beauty of nature with her family by her side. When she wasn't caring for others or enjoying the great outdoors, Janice could be found settling into a good book or tackling crossword puzzles.

Janice leaves behind a loving family: niece, Falisha (Jason) LeJeune; nephew, Gregory (Rachael) Richard; niece, Ashley (Wilbert) Istre; her dear aunt, LouGenia Benoit; her sister, Charlene (David) Cormier; as well as uncle, L.J. (Pasty) Richard; her great nieces and nephews, Cooper, Avery and Ella; as well as many extended family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A public viewing will take place at Miguez Funeral Home on Saturday August 22, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM. A Cursillo Rosary will be held at 11:30 AM, leading up to the funeral service at 12:00 PM, with Father Anil Alexander officiating. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Jennings, LA. 

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Mervin Richard and Mildred Guidry Richard; her brother, Robert "T-Boy" Richard; her great nephew, Braden; and her lifelong companion, Clarence Guthrie.

The family would like to express heir deepest appreciation to Lamm hospice for the care and compassion they have given Janice in her final days. 

Rest in peace, Janice. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.

Pallbeaers will be: Jason LeJeune, Greg Richard, Cooper LeJeune, Dillin LeJeune, Vernon Theunissen, and Lorne Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers will be L.J. Richard and Ella LeJeune.
