Funeral services with full military honors for Mr. James Benoit, 68, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Pat Deshotel officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.

Mr. Benoit died at 4:38 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2018 in his residence.

He was a native of Jennings and a graduate of the Jennings High School class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era. He worked as a floor hand in the Oil and Gas industry.

He is survived by three sisters, Glenda Dupont, Sharon Broussard and Hilda Richard all of Jennings; one brother, Charles Benoit of Lake Arthur, a host of nieces and nephews; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ogden and Irene Miller Benoit; three brothers, Clifton, Ogden Jr., and Preston Benoit; and one sister, Linda Benoit Lapoint.

Pallbearers will be Curth Romero, Andrew Johnson, Brian Dupont, Cliff Dupont, Keegan Miller and Alvin Lapoint, Jr.
