Irene Marie Deshotel

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Deshotel, 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Deshotel died at 6:09 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Deshotel was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur; she loved to cook, bake, work in her yard and dance. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the VFW. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Theriot and husband CJ of Carencro; two step-daughters, Delorus Gary and husband Allen of Baton Rouge, Kathy Cormier of Lake Arthur; one step-son, James Deshotel of Melbourne, FL; one sister, Mabel Mallett of Jennings; one granddaughter, Laurie Hebert and husband Darrell of Lake Arthur; great-grandchildren, Braden and Bayli Hebert; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Odylon and Helen Trahan Mallett; husbands Eliea Dubois and Alex Deshotel, and a son, Beauford Dubois.
