Harry Legros

November 14, 1959 — September 8, 2025

Harry Lee Legros age 65, of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 8th, 2025.

Harry was born on November 14, 1959, in Jennings, Louisiana to the late Rosa Belle and Frank W. Legros. He was a proud, life-long resident of Andrus Cove and graduated from Lake Arthur High, class of 1977. He was hardworking, a loyal friend, and a kind soul.

Harry spent his earliest working years in the oil field, where he especially cherished his time with Griffen Alexander and the lifelong friendships he made. Wanting to be home to watch his girls grow up, he later worked with Miguez Funeral Home, Lake Auto Supply, and eventually ran Lake Arthur Lumber as owner/operator. Most notably he did this work while driving a school bus for Jeff Davis Parish for more than 30 years until his retirement.

His service to his community was something Harry deeply valued and for many years served as a volunteer firefighter and first responder with Jeff Davis Fire District 4.

Harry was incredibly hardworking and eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. When he wasn't helping someone else, he could often be found tinkering or piddling with a project of his own. He also enjoyed working in his summer garden each year.

Friendship was something that was immensely important to him. He was a creature of habit and didn't like straying far from home. He could be found in the mornings drinking coffee at Tiger Mart and in the afternoons sitting on his porch with his "Padnas". The brotherhood he had with Stephen Roy, "Beaver" Trahan, and Kirk Guidry is something that was very special to him. Thank you, guys, for taking care of him until the end!

More than anything, Harry's heart truly belonged to his girls. He lived for his daughters and found the deepest pride in the women they became. His granddaughters lit up his world and brought so much joy to his life over the past 4 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Lacie (Nicole) Legros and Kali (JacqueKosarek; two granddaughters, Isla and Eliza Kosarek; sister, Alta (Henry) Eaglin; brother, Frank James "Frankie" Legros; the mother of his children, LaDonna Guidry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Belle Legros and Frank W. Legros; and his sister, Sharon "Sissy" Legros.

If you knew him, Harry was a very simple man. Per his wishes there will be no funeral service, but a celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

A memorial gathering will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, on Saturday November 8th, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
