Harris Joseph Chaisson Jr.

Harris Joseph Chaisson Jr., a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on December 17, 1951, in Jennings, he lived a rich and full life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and love.

Harris dedicated 48 years of his life to being a truck driver, a career he embraced with a strong work ethic and a commitment to providing for his family. He proudly served in the Marines from December 31, 1970, until March 27, 1975. He was a hardworking man who could always be counted on, and he demonstrated his dedication not just through his job but also as a loving husband to his wife of 47 years, Doris Chaisson. You could often find Harris enjoying the great outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or just relaxing on the porch, taking in nature and cheering for his favorite football teams or watching classic western shows.

Harris was a loving husband to his wife of 47 years, Doris Chaisson, family was everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, Harry (Cassie) Chaisson, Brock (Kaitlyn) Chaisson, Kassi Parsley, and Blake Chaisson, his loving grandchildren, Alexis Sanchez, Brandon Martin, Victoria Skeens, Kaylyn Henry, Audrey Chaisson, Sophie Chaisson, Aidan Chaisson, Andrew Chaisson, Keegan Parsley, Kane Parsley, Jerrett Parsley, and Kara Parsley and his 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Patsy Caswell, brother Bobby Chaisson, and nephew Chad Comeaux.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his remarkable life at Miguez Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM. A funeral service for Harris will be held the same day at 11:30 AM with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. He will be laid to rest in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors, under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Harry Chaisson, Brock Chaisson, Blake Chaisson, Jerrett Parsley, Derrick Parsley, and Chuck Parsley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kane Parsley, Aidan Chaisson, and Andrew Chaisson.

Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Harris Chaisson and Virgie Chaisson, his sister Joyce Chaumont, and his dear granddaughter Holly Parsley.
