A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gwendolyn Marie Spires Racca, 62, of Scott, will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Racca will begin on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.   It will resume Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m. for the procession to the church.

Gwen was born on April 25, 1961, in Jennings to Jack Spires and Mickey Regan Spires.  She earned an associate degree from Spencer Business College and worked as a service advocate at Target since they first opened. She married the love of her life, Jerry Racca, and together they raised two beautiful daughters.  She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and a great friend to many who were privileged to know her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Jerry Racca; her father, Jack Spires; daughters, Magan (Shawn) Solet and Jill Racca; sisters, Paulette (Donald) Kratzer and Kimberly (Aaron) Robertson; brothers, Christopher (Sharon) Spires and Stephen (Melissa) Spires; grandchildren, Jaxon Leger, Avery Solet, and Carter Racca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mickey Regan Spires.
