Genia Renea Guidry

Feb 10, 1965 — Oct 15, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Genia "GiGi" Guidry, who left this world peacefully on October 15, 2026, at the age of 61.

Born on February 10, 1965, in Beaumont, Texas, Genia dedicated her life to nurturing the minds and spirits of her students as a cherished physical education teacher in Acadia Parish. Genia's vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. She was a loving wife to her devoted husband and together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Her affection for her family was boundless; she thrived on spending quality time with them, whether it was jeeping along the beach, soaking in the warmth of the sun, or simply enjoying the beauty of sunrises and sunsets.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Darryll Guidry; her daughter, Ashley (Craig) Webb; step sister, Toni Brown; sisters-in-law, Susan Guidry and Myra (Billy) Hebert; brothers-in-law, Burt (Jackie) Guidry and Raymond Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Bentley Joseph and Harper Drew; niece, Heather (Billy) Hebert; nephews, Josh Clement, Spencer (Riley) Comeaux, Jon Michael (Morgan) Guidry and Noah Hebert; and a host of extended family and friends that will forever remember the amazing life she lived.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Stephenson; mother, Juanita Cormier; and step father, Ray Cormier; son, Andrew Guidry; brother, Troy Stephenson; sister-in-law, Tessy Guidry; brother-in-laws, Kenneth Guidry and Robert "Bobby" Guidry; in-laws, Andy and Marie Guidry; niece, Malori Guidry; and an uncle, Jerry Roye.

A rosary will be held later that same day at 6:00 pm, providing an opportunity for all to gather in prayer and reflection. Visitation will conclude at 8:00 pm. Following the visitation, the family are honoring her wishes of cremation.

As we honor Genia's life, we are reminded of the joy she brought to our lives and the love she shared so generously. May her memory forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
