JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine “Gerri” Fontenot Burton, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home North chapel with Rev. Darrell Hieronymus officiating. Burial will be in the Mowata Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. Mrs. Burton died at 6:40 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 in the Crowley Rehab Hospital. She was a native of Welsh and a resident of Evangeline 30 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Welsh, and Friends Supporting Friends in Basile, LA Survivors include one daughter, Janet Marie (Shannon) Gatte of Evangeline; one son, Al (Cyndi) Miller of Evangeline; one sister, Kathy Newman of Roanoke; three brothers, Charles (Chris) Fontenot of Killeen, TX, John (Lena) Fontenot of Welsh, Curtis Fontenot of Welsh; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Gladys LeLeux Fontenot; and her two husbands, W.O. Pinkie Rose and Donald C. Burton; and one sister, Emma Jean Fontenot.
