Mrs. Landry was born in LeBlanc on May 5, 1936, to parents George Washington LeBlanc and Ethel Hebert LeBlanc. She passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in her daughter’s home, surrounded by family.

She spent years alongside her father and mother harvesting the family fields. She was a graduate of Reeves High School. She also attended cosmetology school and became a hairdresser for many years. She then spent many years as a caretaker of the elderly and babysitter of local children. Mrs. Landry enjoyed sewing, working with arts and crafts, baking pies for others, cooking, traveling, camping, and visiting with family and friends. She loved being outside and working in her garden. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and loved working with children and missions.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Catherine Landry Marcantel; sons; David (Mitzy) Landry and Dwayne (Angel) Landry; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mary LeBlanc Morrow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 39 years, James Landry Jr.; sister, Geneva LeBlanc Alston; brother, Charles Ray LeBlanc; and son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Marcantel.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Heart of Hospice and especially their nurse, Tracy for the compassion and care they have given to Georgia.
