Frank Walker, 49, of Sulphur passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, December 31, 2020.
He was born in Monroe and raised in Bastrop, LA. Frank was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM) and Andersonville Theological Seminary. He answered the Lord’s call 25 years ago and faithfully served as Music Minister, Youth Minister and Pastor. Frank has been the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Carlyss for the last 3 years. He was a bi-vocational pastor and taught at Bethel Christian School in Jennings for 12 years. Frank loved his students and enjoyed science field trips to Holly Beach where they studied wave dynamics and Redfish anatomy. He was a gifted musician who played upright bass, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and piano in addition to singing in the ULM Choir while in college. During his 2-year battle with brain cancer, Frank never lost his sense of humor; he was always looking for a way to make someone smile.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his father Barney Walker; grandmothers, Mammie Walker and Virgie Perkins; grandfather, Aaron Gibbs; and great grandmother, “Mamma” Tisdale.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, April Walker; sons Stephen Walker and James Walker both of Sulphur; and his mother Diane Walker of West Monroe.
