JENNINGS And the memory of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy4:6-7 Funeral services for Mrs. Ferna Fern Manuel Freyou, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Masters officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Eddie Luke Freyou in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Mrs. Freyou crossed through the pearly gates on May 6, 2012 at 10:55 a.m. at her daughters residence at the age of 92. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday; and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Mrs. Freyou was a wife and mother and a resident of Jennings 75 years and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne Freyou and Tun Gist, a grandson; Wade Gist and wife Amanda and a granddaughter; Kaly Gist of Jennings; seven great-grandchildren, Kamryn Randolph, Dylan Johnson Gist, Jordan Gist, Hunter Jones, Jaxson Jones, Dane Gist and Gracie Gist. Mrs. Freyou was preceded in death by the love of her life, Eddie Luke Freyou, World War II Veteran and her grandson, Tun Cory Gist and sister, Ethel Manuel. A special thank you to the six caring angels who provided her care and support in the last two years: Faye Broussard, Shirley Brown, Roxanne LeGros, Kay Landry, Connie LeGros and Sheryl Griffin. Pallbearers will be fellow members of the First Baptist Church and four of her great-grandchildren.
